the little white speck in the center left of the picture is our hive. the hive looked weak going into the fall--we started it late in the spring and received the summer deluge of 2008...but a dry fall and extra busy, determined pollinators worked diligently to store as much honey as they could before winter. we also fed them some sugar water before the arrival of the really cold weather.
